Advanced Reporting Troubleshooting

Use this troubleshooting page to quickly isolate reporting issues and apply the right fix.

Cannot open Reports module

  • Check View Reports permission.
  • If login redirects or SSO errors occur, resolve SSO first, then retry reports.

Create actions are hidden or disabled

  • Check Create Reports permission.
  • If inside a folder, confirm folder-level create/edit allowance.

Can view but cannot edit

  • You likely have View share only.
  • Request Edit access and confirm Edit Reports is enabled.

Share button missing

  • You need item share authority (can_share) and usually Edit Reports.
  • Ask owner/admin to grant share-capable access.

Report preview returns no data

  • Validate source (Report Type/Base Table), selected fields, and filters.
  • If using ADV filter logic, validate expression syntax and filter indexes.
  • Refresh preview after pending changes.

Formula errors

  • Validate formula expression and return type compatibility.
  • Check reference tokens and remove circular dependencies.
  • Use AI assist for draft help, then run validation again.

Dashboard common filters are limited

  • Only fields common across all selected reports are eligible as common filters.
  • Add compatible reports or simplify card mix to widen filter options.

Move/clone/delete fails

  • Check item-level manage/edit rights.
  • Check global permissions: Edit Reports and Delete Reports.

Export fails

  • Check Export Reports permission.
  • Export max is 50,000 rows per job.
  • Narrow date range/filters and retry.

Access denied on report/dashboard

  • Use in-app request access (View or Edit).
  • Add a short comment to speed owner approval.
