The Dashboard Creator assembles saved reports into configurable, shareable dashboards.
What dashboards provide
- Single pane of glass across multiple reports.
- Flexible grid layout with drag/resize cards.
- Per-card visual customization.
- Common filters applied across all compatible cards.
Step 1: Create/open a dashboard
- Create from
Main > Analytics > Reports > Add > Dashboard. - Or open an existing dashboard from the catalog.
Step 2: Add report cards
- Use Browse folders and reports to add saved reports.
- Picker supports both My and Shared report libraries.
- Each selected report is added as a dashboard card/widget.
Step 3: Set layout
- Choose grid density: 6, 12, or 24 columns.
- Drag cards to reposition.
- Resize cards to control chart/table canvas space.
- Cards auto-resolve collisions to keep a valid layout.
Step 4: Configure each card visual
- Visual types: Line, Bar, Waterfall, Pie, Treemap, Table, KPI, Spider, Decomposition.
- Axis/category mapping and metric aggregation controls.
- Date granularity toggles for date dimensions (week/month/quarter/year).
- Legend position controls where applicable.
- Bar supports stacked view.
- KPI supports metric selection + KPI aggregation + label override.
- Table supports column set, group columns, order, subtotals, and grand total.
- Card-level clone and remove actions are available in edit workflows.
Step 5: Add common dashboard filters
- Common filters are built only from fields shared across selected reports.
- Set filter logic as AND or OR.
- Operators are field-type aware.
- Reorder filters and lock/unlock as needed.
- Apply filters to refresh all eligible cards together.
Step 6: Run and save
- Use refresh to rerun card data.
- Save persists layout, card configs, and common filters.
- Table cards use incremental loading for larger datasets.
Step 7: Share and lifecycle actions
- Share: users/groups with View or Edit.
- Move: change folder location.
- Clone: duplicate dashboard.
- Delete: remove dashboard (manage + delete rights required).
- Favorite: mark for quick recall.
View mode behavior
- Consumers can toggle the filter drawer and apply allowed filters.
- Users can open source reports directly from dashboard cards.
- If access is denied, users can submit a View/Edit access request.
