Dashboard Creator (Custom Dashboards)

The Dashboard Creator assembles saved reports into configurable, shareable dashboards.

What dashboards provide

  • Single pane of glass across multiple reports.
  • Flexible grid layout with drag/resize cards.
  • Per-card visual customization.
  • Common filters applied across all compatible cards.

Step 1: Create/open a dashboard

  • Create from Main > Analytics > Reports > Add > Dashboard.
  • Or open an existing dashboard from the catalog.

Step 2: Add report cards

  • Use Browse folders and reports to add saved reports.
  • Picker supports both My and Shared report libraries.
  • Each selected report is added as a dashboard card/widget.

Step 3: Set layout

  • Choose grid density: 6, 12, or 24 columns.
  • Drag cards to reposition.
  • Resize cards to control chart/table canvas space.
  • Cards auto-resolve collisions to keep a valid layout.

Step 4: Configure each card visual

  • Visual types: Line, Bar, Waterfall, Pie, Treemap, Table, KPI, Spider, Decomposition.
  • Axis/category mapping and metric aggregation controls.
  • Date granularity toggles for date dimensions (week/month/quarter/year).
  • Legend position controls where applicable.
  • Bar supports stacked view.
  • KPI supports metric selection + KPI aggregation + label override.
  • Table supports column set, group columns, order, subtotals, and grand total.
  • Card-level clone and remove actions are available in edit workflows.

Step 5: Add common dashboard filters

  • Common filters are built only from fields shared across selected reports.
  • Set filter logic as AND or OR.
  • Operators are field-type aware.
  • Reorder filters and lock/unlock as needed.
  • Apply filters to refresh all eligible cards together.

Step 6: Run and save

  • Use refresh to rerun card data.
  • Save persists layout, card configs, and common filters.
  • Table cards use incremental loading for larger datasets.

Step 7: Share and lifecycle actions

  • Share: users/groups with View or Edit.
  • Move: change folder location.
  • Clone: duplicate dashboard.
  • Delete: remove dashboard (manage + delete rights required).
  • Favorite: mark for quick recall.

View mode behavior

  • Consumers can toggle the filter drawer and apply allowed filters.
  • Users can open source reports directly from dashboard cards.
  • If access is denied, users can submit a View/Edit access request.
